Event Details:

  • Location: Ullswater Yacht Club, Ullswater Lake, Lake District

  • Time: Start at 9:30 AM - Finish at 4:30 PM

  • Session Length: 30 Minutes

  • Price: £5 per person or £15 for a family of 4

  • Experience Required: None! Open to all skill levels

  • Age: Welcoming participants of all ages

No Experience? No Problem!

Our Family Open Day is designed to welcome individuals and families with no prior sailing experience. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get a feel for the sport in a relaxed, supportive, and breathtakingly beautiful setting.

  • We recommend that you bring a towel, swimming costume, trainers/wet boots and hat and gloves (dependent on the weather you may need sun glasses!) however, just in case, bring along warm clothing, ie a quick drying fleece and layers.

  • You need to be confident in the water, you will be wearing a buoyancy aid. There is no minimum swimming ability requirement.

  • None, just great enthusiasm

  • 30min sessions as a taster on the water. But other session at UYC are available.

  • No minimum or maximum age, this event can be adapted to fit all ages/families.

  • At UYC we have plenty of parking on site, simply turn up, park and ask for the Sailing Manager. He will welcome you and show you where to change etc

  • There will be food available to purchase at UYC for all participants
