Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. It aims to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats. It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed and collision regulations. We have a selection of different safety boats, but please contact us in advance if you specifically want the displacement endorsement.
Lake District National Park regulations restrict these courses to late winter and the autumn. If you would like to gain this qualification for 2026 please take the opportunity to book now.
This course wil be run f over the weekend of 27th, 28th & 29th March
Friday afternoon, (4pm to 7pm), Saturday (9am to 5pm) and Sunday Morning ((9am to 1 pm)
This course will be run with a 1:3 instructor to pupil ratio.
All participants need to be over the age of 16 for this course.
Course price £275 pp - discounted to £50 pp for UYC members.
