Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. It aims to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats. It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed and collision regulations. We have a selection of different safety boats, but please contact us in advance if you specifically want the displacement endorsement.
Lake District National Park regulations restrict these courses to autumn and late winter. If you would like to gain this qualification for 2026 please take the opportunity to book now.
We have two course dates available for 2026:
Saturday 31st October & Sunday 1st November 2026
Saturday 21st November & Sunday 22nd November 2026
All participants need to be over the age of 16 for this course.
Course price £275 pp - discounted to £50 pp for UYC members.
To secure your booking, pay either the full fee now or a 25% deposit followed by a balance payment no later than 14 days before your course start date..
